Peacock that danced for me

As usual..I was bored that day..it was 12 am...bored becoz I am not doing anything worthy and that my weekend is getting wasted. Then I decided and called two of my frens for the places to see near Bangalore - anyones which can be covered in 1 day. One suggested Tiruvannamalai. I wasnt carrying anything expect my camera ..which happens most of the times.

I was told that I have to catch a bus from Madiwala. I took a local bus and started on that to Madiwala. I thought it would be better if I can pull in somebody. Called Phani - btech friend - a good one to hang with. Unexpectedly, he was as free as me --- hahhaaaaa -- thanks to our greatest pastime - being idle.

Immediately we set for TIRUVANNAMALAI. The place was great with Agni Linga of shiva and went to the temple again the following morning - was not aware of the things to come. We went to ramana maharshi ashram. Most of the ppl there were meditating - i suddenly felt out of place - i dint know what to do - tried to be like them for half a minute - all weird things passed thru my head and I am looking at them - aaaaaaaaaaaaghhh -- it was scary -- too boring --thought this is not for ppl like me.

Luckily there were many peacocks and hens there. I creeped on the stairs of one building to take a close pic of one peacock. I got the pic i wanted - dint expect more than that...when it opened its feathers. I took a step ahead and took another pic still hiding. Now I am not afraid that I would miss any pic and came out of hide out. Surprisingly, it dint bother. I kept on clicking - I thought it was happy to see me and was dancing for that --- atleast I think I wished that. There were two peahens before it - huhhhh. Still I never had the leisure of taking so many pics at one go and that too a close shot. It was one great day - I would like to remember it as a day - that peacock danced for me :)

Athirapally - Is just a dream come true

My friend ... Krishna shot my pic ..at our dream place...Athirapally. Athirapally is famous for its waterfall, which is located around 60 km away from Cochin.

We started off from Coimbatore on Friday for our official tour which would start on Monday. We had 2 days at hand and we wanted to make best use of it. We filled full tank in coimbatore where the guy filling fuel said that we packed and dressed ourselves like foreigners. We felt elated with his comment and drive off to kerala. We reached a point where we had to decide whether we go to Guruvayoor or Athirapally. We thought that God is everywhere and thought that we will find him at athirapally. After travelling for 20km, the place suddenly turned more green, more calm and it was almost the sunset time, when suddenly I had to stop the bike - a tortoise was crossing the road. How the hell do u expect a tortoise to cross a road in a normal place -ohhh...we thought that this is the place. The road was amazing and so was the drive. We reached the place and had a glimpse of the waterfall. It was almost dark so were back to hotel and prepared for the big day.

Next morning we woke up very early - very unusual for us - we went by the side of the river just opposite to the room we stayed...the clouds were passing by and there were birds - lot of birds - wat i saw till that time in zoo - in cages.

Then we went to the waterfall - went downstream - took a few snaps will all possible weird poses - gulping the waterfall, looking to the sky with unfolded arms . As the downstream was some 80ft below (it looked even deeper :))the normal level - we sweated profusely and then an idea struck - we wanted to sleep in the flowing river. The shallow depths and not so cold water allowed us to relax in the flowing water - with a view of mountains around. We in the water - in-between the mountains - was an awesome time - we thought this is life and we remained in water for 4 hrs.

The memories of athirapally remain as such even today. I have seen so many places...but it is always an unique experience...my writing wont help u to understand the happiness we experienced ...u just need to know it ....
